Another Before & After

I know its been awhile, since I have posted any projects. Truth is I have been very busy with the new business, which is good. My design room is still very much a work in progress. I want to brighten up this room quite a bit. I still need to do a new layout, paint the walls, and figure out a new storage solution. I re-did this little storage cabinet a little while ago, which was quite an easy project. Baby steps...right?

Here is the before, it was a dark brown wood, and while I respect and love all things vintage and dingy. I like a more clean modern when I am designing. I think it makes me feel more organized or something.....huh!

I had changed the hardware to try to give it some "oomph", but that didn't work.  I also didn't really like the "toggle" closer. 

I wanted it done quickly, so I just broke out the spray paint and went to town. I did take time to take the doors and hardware off first, and gave it a good wipe down. Then, I went with a bold hot pick to try to give it some pizzaz. 

I changed out the closer mechanism, hardware and added a fun patterned paper to the door panels.

Wow! I have been so super busy lately, I feel like I am neglecting my blog. I have so many things going on these days with volunteering at Colton's school, his after school activities, starting the business, and all while still being the captain of the household.

A Little Sprinkle of Halloween

Well even though its still 90 degrees here in Texas, its that time again...FALL....

I had the hubs get all the decorations down this weekend and have been busy doing a little decorating. I started with the mantle...and looking at these photo's makes me realize how much I still hate the fireplace surround! That is the hubs next project, for sure!

I have a little bit of a hodge podge of decorations that I decided I would just group together for more impact. I downloaded the subway art from Eighteen25, they have some AWESOME crafting ideas! The bunting is from Moselle Designs. I love printables!!

A Unique Life Series

True Image Interiors

As most of you know I'm an interior designer by trade. The designer market was hit really hard here in Dallas in 2009 when the market fell. I have steadily looked for a job the last couple years and have been working contract for a firm for the last year. Truth is now that I have been home and financially we have made it fine, I want the best of both worlds. I want to design and be able able to do things for my family that are important to me. I have learned that bringing home a steady paycheck isn't the only thing important in taking care of your family.

So I introduce to you True Image Interiors,

I have spent the last few weeks doing the legalities of it all, business cards, domains and emails, and building a website. I still have to add pictures to the portfolio section, but want to choose carefully how I want to represent this company. I want to brand it, in a way that is true to me.

I will still continue to do all things crafty...that is just a part of who I am, but I am so excited about this new journey. Hope on over to the website and let me know what you think!

Armoire Turned Bar Storage

Well last week, we finally bit the bullet and bought a 60" flat screen for the family room. That being said I had to find a new home for the old armoire, and since that look is pretty out dated I decided to turn it into a bar storage area. We had a hole cut out of the back so our other tv could fit, you know how big they used to be!

Here is the before.....

I had to figure out a way to add stability to the back, in addition to having something to mount the shelves inside to. So, I wrapped plywood in a decorative fabric to fit the entire back side.

 I added battery LED lights for for drama.

The wine fridge has a perfect home next the armoire.

Now in addition to having somewhere to house all of my wine glasses and accessories this old armoire has a new life. It has a new home in the room that is my office, which makes the unwinding to a busy, stressful day just a few steps away.

Unique Finds~For The Critters

Since we lost another one of our furry friends a couple weeks ago, I wanted to dedicate this post to our sweet Bobbie (Boo Boo) Kitty at 15 years old her kidneys finally gave out. 

 If you are tired of the same 'ol pet beds, take a look at some of the upscaled (recycled) items into awesome little nooks for your furry friends.
